The Broker - What It Is
Tab Trade launched in March 2026. Trading platform registered in Saint Lucia, under the Financial Services Regulatory Authority. The person who started it is Benjamin Boulter. Before this, he was on the executive team at BlackBull Markets, the New Zealand-regulated broker.
His background matters. It says the founder has actually done this before. Does not guarantee anything. Still preferable to someone with no brokerage experience.
The broker opened with Equinix LD4/LD5 connectivity. Same data centres prime brokers run on. Most new brokers focuses on ads and sign-up promos. These guys went the other way. Interesting choice.
The instrument list: forex, indices, metals, commodities, equities, crypto, ETFs. 1,000+. For a platform that is a few months old, that coverage is solid.
What You Trade On
They offer: MT5, cTrader, and a WebTrader. Both MT5 and cTrader from one account. Most brokers only give you one or the other. Having both makes a difference. You are not locked into one.
MetaTrader 5 is the default. Full charting, EAs, massive community. If you have used a MetaQuotes platform previously, there are no surprises.
cTrader is the more modern one. Better DOM. More responsive charts. Native automated trading. Many people prefer it once they try it.
Direct FIX connectivity is available for algo traders but is only on the VIP account ($25k minimum). TradingView charting is apparently on the roadmap. That will round things out when it lands.
What You Pay
Three levels: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard account. Spreads from 1.0 pips. No commission. Straightforward. $0 to start. Good for anyone who does not want to think about commission.
Edge. Raw spreads from 0.0 pips average. Flat commission of $3.50 per side. What you actually pay: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On EUR/USD, the actual interbank spread is frequently below 0.2 pips. Meaning your real cost can be below 0.5 pips. That is good for a broker with $0 to start. Most platforms that offer pricing like this require a minimum deposit. This broker does not.
VIP. $25k to open. FIX connectivity, sub-20ms execution, tailored rates. Not something typical accounts. Ignore this one unless you run serious volume.
How Fast Are the Fills
The execution is the thing this broker actually does something different. Equinix LD4/LD5. Under 30ms on Edge. Under 20ms on VIP. These are not marketing fluff. The average platform operate at 100ms to 300ms.
Does it matter? If you scalp, yes. The gap between a 30ms fill and a 200ms fill is catching the move or missing it. If you trade higher timeframes, you probably will not feel it. What matters is they invested in proper execution. That says they are not cutting corners on the tech.
Pair those fill times with raw spreads at $3.50 per side and what you get is strong. Hardly anyone in this bracket run Equinix connectivity.
Safety
This is the part that matters. The broker is licensed by Saint Lucia's FSRA. That is tier-3. No CySEC. No government-backed safety net. If that is a dealbreaker, this broker is not for you. Plenty of tier-1 alternatives out there.
That said. The founder built his career at BlackBull Markets, a tier-1 regulated broker. The Equinix infrastructure is not cheap. Scam brokers do not bother with tier-1 data centre access. None of this replace tier-1 regulation. But be part of how you think about it.
What you are accepting: you trade regulatory safety. What you get instead: 1:1000 leverage, cheap spreads, $0 to start, Equinix execution. Whether this deal makes sense comes down to your priorities.
The Bonus
TabTrade has a deposit bonus of up to $2,000. Usual deposit match. You deposit, they add bonus funds. Usual conditions attached: minimum lots traded before you can withdraw the bonus. Read the conditions before funding.
